Porting number SMS issues - no outgoing/incoming

Hi, I ported my number this morning from Fido but I am having issues. I replied with YES to my old provider and received confirmation that the port will go through. 30 minutes later, through eSim setup my number ported just fine - incoming/outgoing calls work fine with new eSIM on public mobile HOWEVER i just noticed hours later that i did not receive the 'welcome' text from PM and also none of the outgoing or incoming text messages work. Please help as i cannot receive any text messages from any of my friends/family. I am unsure where to check the status of my port request.
