No service

Liv93

My husband and I have had no problems for the last year or so receiving service at our house. All of the sudden we have no service, where if we want to send a text or make a phone call we need to go to the road to do so. I've tried resetting the networks, taking out the sims cards, etc. And nothing has worked. Has anyone else experienced this?

Try to reset your network system under Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Grasping at straws for you ... borrow another phone and try your sim card .   When you loacte the closest tower ...any new construction between your house and the tower .  We used to have wandering long distance due to structures between our property  and towers .

@Liv93  this is not normal.

How long has this been?  Which province you are at?

Was it only calls and text with issue? both incoming and outgoing calls and text?  How about Data?  Does data work when you are home?

When you are home, what is it showing on top of the screen, does it show No Service? or does it show Public Mobile?  How many bars it is showing?

So, when you leave home in another area, the service comes back without you doing much?

You have any friends using Telus or Koodo or even Bell  and Virgin that might be able to come to your house and test it out?

Try this, change your network setting to 3G only or HSPA only and see if you can start making outgoing calls.

Please check the Cell towers map as  suggested by @esjliv .  See how far the towers are from your house

You might also want to open a ticket later with Mod to see if they can find out anything.

Let us know...

@Liv93 So you are able to obtain service when you move to another area down the road?

How far down the road?

Check for outages in your area: https://www.telus.com/en/on/outages

or https://downdetector.ca/status/telus/map/

Does rebooting help service?

Also, try toggling into airplane mode for a few minutes, than back to regular mode.

Are you in this area that may be affected:

Canadian Cell Towers (see Telus and Bell towers for coverage):

The phrase "all of a sudden" can be unnerving. If you want to confirm if there issues in your area or with a particular tower, you could ask the Moderators to check your location.

It is strange that both your phones are reacting similarly.
