New subscribers porting an existing Public Mobile number?

Is it possible to subscribe, and either port an existing public mobile number or transfer a public mobile number after activation?
My son currently has the $15, 250mb plan, however there is a promotion for $29, 20gig that is currently running.
Any other suggestions other than outright cancelling his current subscription and obtaining a new plan with a new phone number?

The $29 plan is only be subsribed to while activating a new account.

please do not try to activate a new plan and try try port the number with an existing PM plan to the new account.  It won't work and PM support won't help for a manual "port" either.  This is not considered as a port but only switching numbers between two accounts.  PM has made it clear this cannot be done

However, we seen that PM might eventually open up those plans for existing subscribers after some time.  So be patient and check your My Account often and see if the plan shows up there

@Mayellah01 - Contact CS_Agent to try get the plan. 9 times out of ten you will get it if you are paying less than the plan advertises.

If they deny it, you will have to port to another carrier (Like Lucky OR Koodo) and then after a couple days port back into PM with the same SIM card and you will be considered a new customer.
