New phone will not accept public mobile SIM card

I just bought a new iPhone 14, and upgrade from my iPhone 8 and my SIM is not recognized in my new iPhone 14. I was assured the new phone was unlocked by Bell. Any suggestions?

The iPhone 14 shouldn’t be locked by any Canadian carriers since 2017 unless it was Blacklisted and was reported lost or stolen.

did you buy from a trusted source?  for peace of mind, check if the phone is clean

hi @Hydro

make sure the sim is not inserted up side down, a common mistake 🙂

on your new iPhone, go into settings / General / About / scroll down to Carrier Lock...hopefully it shows No SiM restrictions.  Let us know if you're seeing something else.

Maybe open SIM card tray, readjust SiM card,  close the tray and restart phone.

Network reset of phone

If the phone is locked to Bell, the phone should ask for a PIN code when you insert the PM SIM card.
