New phone sim card compatibility

Eagle3

Hi, I just bought an unlocked Samsung galaxy S21 FE 5G phone. I can't use the sim card from my old phone as it's a Galaxy Grand Prime (yup!) and the sim card is a different size. Any advice on what to buy so it's compatible with Public Mobile? Will I be able to move contacts/data over? Thanks!

I believe your Grand Prime used a micro sized sim but your s21 uses a nano. You can check the sim to see if you can "break off" the excess around the sim card (most modern sim cards allow you to easily break/take off the excess size as it allows the cards to be used in different phones). If not you'd have to purchase a new sim. Good luck.

HI @Eagle3

check if your sim card is like this:

You can then peel the outer off to make it the nano sim card for S21

Most sims are 3 sizes. You can carefully snap out smaller sizes from the larger one leaving frame pieces that you might want to keep.

Samsung is pretty good at transferring things.
