Put an activated SIM in it and see if it will get service.

is it Android?  An Android phone will ask for sim network code if it's locked to a company that isn't owned by Telus.

Hello @Moomjoj ,

Put a SIM card in it, do you have service?

Then if you can try a different provider's SIM card, do you still have service?

If yes, to both, you are unlocked.

"One way to tell if your device is unlocked is to take out your carrier's SIM card and swap in one from another cell phone carrier. When you boot up your phone, it will ask for an unlock code. Contact the carrier who sold you the device to find the code. "

Hi @Moomjoj

Is my iPhone unlocked?

Navigate to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data.

If you see the cellular data options as a category, your phone is probably unlocked

Is my Android phone unlocked?

Navigate to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network operator.

If a network such as "Bell" or "Telus" is displayed under Network Operator, your phone may be unlocked.
