No such thing with Public Mobile?

@PeterSoucy   APN is the setting needed for data and mms

do you have trouble with the data now and voice working (assuming the local sim has voice as well)

A quicker way is to try Reset all network first .  Usually it will work, but in some case, you need to go to APN screen to tweak

If you have iPhone, make sure you update Carrier profile

But we want seamless operation with existing phone # for text, data, and calling.

@PeterSoucy   Check what I suggested above first

if nothing work, head to a Vodafone store and ask for help.  Remember, you got their sim card, you are their customer and entitle to support

What kind of phone you have? brand and model?

Most countries will have cheap pre-paid or even pay as you go providers. You sign up to them just like you did here. The phone needs to be compatible to them and unlocked. Just like here.

You can use your hotel address for that part. It's not likely verified just like here.

@PeterSoucy   the beauty for local sim is you can easily get support there, head back to the mobile shop

But is that data not work? try to Reset all network.

Also, check with the provider to confirm APN

@PeterSoucy - surprised local sim cards are not satisfactory in NZ and AUS. So, you are there now and have one; or is this something you heard from others?

@PeterSoucy   what exat problem you face with local sim ?  share and maybe we can help

I find local sim is good, if anything wrong, you go back to the mobile kiosk and they can help

If you use roaming, let say you cannot connect to T-Mobile in US for roaming, usually T-Mobile would not like to provide much  help

@PeterSoucy   you likely need to get local data sim card and VoIP app for making voice call

if roaming service is critical, you will have to check with Teir 2 or Teir 1 provider like Koodo or Telus

With Tier 3 provider, only Chatr has full roaming service

@PeterSoucy - Roaming is only available in the USA. You need to purchase Roaming addons through My Account for services whilst in USA.

International, suggest to purchase local SIM card.
