I can't use data

McDiarmid

Hello,

I subscribe a plan "text and talk" $15/month.  This plan also offers 250Mb data/month, but it never works for me since the first month use.

I assume when my Wi-Fi is off, the Mobile data should be on for use, but nothing happens. I can't use data at all.

Please advise.  Thanks

McDiarmid

Hi @hTideGnow

I'm using Android.  I've tried to reset all network, but it doesn't work.  I will try to setup APN as someone suggestion.  Thanks.

Google "Public mobile APN" and it'll guide you on how to change it. If this doesn't work then reach out to a mod. Good Luck!

Yes, I turn off the wifi completely, then turn on my mobile data, but I can't access the Internet.

You can check if APN is set to sp.mb.com or isb.mb.com
If you are on iOS then go to Settings, Cellular data and go to Cellular Data Networks.
If you are on Android then go to Settings, Connections, Mobile networks and go to Access Point Names.
Then you can check if you have the right APN settings.

If that doesn't help then you can reset networks, to do this on iOS go to Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPhone, Reset and click Reset Network Settings. For Android go to Settings, General management, Reset, Reset network settings, Reset settings and Reset to confirm. Keep in mind this will reset all your Wi-Fi passwords so you will need to re-enter your Wi-Fi passwords.

@McDiarmid you will need to turn on your mobile data when you wish to access the Internet using your data. Turning off the wifi only disconnects you from the WiFi network.

In order to conserve your data, make sure you turn on/off your mobile data when needed.

@McDiarmid  Even with wifi on if you have wifi assist on it will use your cell data also make sure you have wifi assist off when using wifi so it won’t steal from your cell data

HI @McDiarmid

are you using Android or iPhone?

First, make sure Mobile data is turned on.    and then Try Reset all networks

if iPhone, make sure Carrier Profile is updated.
