My wife had a public mobile account/subscription for roughly a year and had a discounted monthly payment. At around this time, May of 2024, she referred me and I became a subscriber/had an account with Public Mobile. When I did this, instead of her receiving a further discount or collecting points, her subscription went back to the base amount, in this case $16.80/month (including tax - Canadian Dollars). It is the same rate that I am currently paying. Her subscription increased by over $5/month. I had a new SIM card, but my wife's old phone (which I was using with a different SIM card and a different provider). I am wondering if somehow "Public Mobile" recognized the phone as already having an account and somehow reset my wife's subscription/payment history. We are both now stuck paying the base rate. If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this issue, it would be greatly appreciated. It is frustrating that there are no customer services agents to speak to.

Just coincidental timing. The old rewards program was discontinued so everyone pays full price. The new points system replaced it as Sansan mentioned.

@DmitriC read about the changes to the rewards program below. This was changed May 2024.
You pay full monthly plan upfront and get back Points to which you have to redeem manually when you have the minimum 15 points.
Now everyone gets Points back each month. It's 5% off your plan, 1 point for each referrals per month and 1 -15 Points Back from the community.
