Data won't work on Blackberry Key2 phone

Just activated my new sim card and phone and text are working fine.  But I cannot get the data to work on the phone.  I have entered in the APN settings as directed but still there is not data - it keeps saying server not found.  I turned off my wifi so I could check.  Can someone please help me I can't find any answers on the internet.

Yeehaw - it was the dual sim as an issue - fixed

Tried that - didn't work. Yes I was with telus and had no problem whatsoever with the data.  It is a Blackberry Key2 LTE. I could give you a serial number but not sure how that would help. Maybe the SIM card is faulty?

Nope. 'nuff said if it worked with Telus.

Can we assume you have data left? You see a data counter on your overview page in your self-serve?

Sigh. Didn't work

I would stick with LTE/WCDMA/GSM

How about just 4D in MVNO Value.

Could you give us any other submodel numbers/names?

Was this phone with a previous carrier running cell data?

Sigh. Didn't work

@sjbjoat choose wcdma or wcdma/gsm

APN type: default,mms,supl,hipri,fota,ia

And those are the only choices the Public Mobile SIM card gives me

For preferred network type options I only have:

GSM only

WCDMA only

WCDMA/GSM

LTE/WCDMA

LTE/WCDMA/GSM

It is set for the last one.

@sjbjoat when your testing your mobile data please turn off your wifi

  • change your preferred network type from auto to 3g
  • deleted the APN with the ip address restart your phone and test
  • try switching sim slots if it's a dual sim phone

I did send them to someone - guess they didn't arrive.  I will post two sets - the ones from yesterday and the one I am using today based on trying another post's suggestion.

 @sjbjoat

I must have had my wifi turned on somehow yesterday when I thought the network reset did the trick.  But today when I was not near my house and I needed data I had no access to data at all and when I check my usage there has been no usage.  SO clearly I have not had the data working.  I have redone everyone - network reset, reboot, checked APN settings etc.  Still no data

Activated yesterday and had this problem.  Thought I had solved it with network reset but I had not.  No data - have checked and rechecked APN.  Have reset network numerous times. Have contacted moderators but still not solution.  Can anyone help me?  Any other Blackberry Key2 users out there where you data does work?

Thanks everyone for all your speedy replies.  The network reset has done the trick!  You are all awesome.

 @sjbjoat

How about the ridiculously obvious - is cell data turned on. Happens 🙂

Did you send those screen snips in a private message?

Maybe take an actual picture and crop it down and blank things and then post it up here.

Or transcribe all the lines..although that could introduce errors.

@sjbjoat  this is for a key 1

  • Touch Apps.
  • Scroll to and touch Settings.
  • Touch More.
  • Touch Network settings reset.
  • Touch RESET SETTINGS.
  • Touch RESET SETTINGS.
  • The network settings have been reset.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Enable data and try sending an mms message and surfing the internet.

@sjbjoat Try this:

  1. Touch Apps.
  2. Scroll to and touch Settings.
  3. Touch More.
  4. Touch Network settings reset.
  5. Touch RESET SETTINGS.

How do I do a network reset?  I have turned the phone off and on numerous times to no avail.  I have entered all the apn settings correctly

@sjbjoat try a network reset and restart your phone if it doesn't automatically do so. Test it.

If it fails try these APN settings

Stay safe.

@sjbjoat , have you tried doing a reset first before entering the APN settings?
