Canada wide long distance

I live in Ontario. Travelling to Alberta for a week. Can I use my 500 min. long distance free holiday giveaway or my 500 min. long distance one time bonus when I am there, or do I still have to buy the Canada Wide Minutes add-on for $5? I am a bit confused on this point.

What plan are you on?  Most plans have Canada 🇨🇦 wide calling included.
Then, no long distance plan will be necessary.

All plan features work the same nation-wide. If you have an old provincial calling plan then you can still call within the province you're in.

Are you on one of the old grandfathered plans with province wide calling?

Most plans have Canada wide calling and your phone will work across Canada without need for Canada wide minutes.  

Yes, the free give away bonus talk add on does cover Canada calls also.  If you are on province calling or the $15 plan with 100 outgoing minutes, you may need to use this add on.
