I would suggest you check to see if there are any outages in your area. Check outage  map:

Do all your other services work (i.e. can you make calls, send & receive texts, and does data work)

 

If so, it is possible you did not reply "YES" to the port authorization request if porting here from another provider, within 90 minutes of getting that text with your old provider SIM card still in your device?

 

If so, I'll send you a number to call for porting assistance.

 

To get it, tap the envelope icon above right when you see a red number in it.   That'll be my message with the phone number to contact.

Did you just request a number to be ported in just now?  If so, those don't work until the number porting process has finished.
