Can not activate cellular data network

bodil

Hi, new user and activated a sim card online for an iphone 4. Yes an iphone 4 🙂 Has a compatible IMEI number and can make calls. It shows public mobile 3G on my screen with full strength but when I try and use my data, it says (can not activate cellular data network). I checked my account and it has used some MB when I was in Cornwall. Now I'm temporarily in Toronto and data is not working?

Thank you

You can view your APN settings in one of the following locations:
Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Network
Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network.

Make sure they are similar to the following:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Phones-Hardware/How-do-I-set-up-data-APN-on-my-smartp...

To revert to your carrier's default APN information, go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network > Reset Settings. If you installed a configuration profile, the profile's default information will be used instead.

Go to Settings > Cellular and tap the Cellular Data Switch to turn it off. Return to the home screen and wait 30 seconds. switch data back on. Enable LTE (Settings > Mobile> Mobile Data Options > Enable LTE) Connect your phone to a WiFi network and let the phone sit for about 30 seconds. Reboot phone.

Hi bodil,

Have you tried Reset Network Settings?

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

In most cases it will fix it.

Hi

Do you know how to check your APN Settings?

it should be     isp.mb.com

Settings->Cellualr->Cellular Data Network  - something similar

@bodil follow the procedure provided in this post.

If the amount of data used is around 5MB, then it may be the self-serve portal showing some "reserved" buffer data, which hasn't actually been used.

Took me to long to find the thread glad you are here @CalgaryBen
