I am trying to pay my sons bill but his service is shut off and it needs to send a code to him. Is there another way to get access to his account

Have you signed up for the new Eversafe login for your son's account before?

If you did sign up, you can ask the resent the code via email instead.  Click on resend. 

If you did not sign up, you can try to reset the password of your son's account. Try to login again.  Resend code to email may be an option.  Another trick is to enter incorrect text codes several times and sometimes the site will offer an email code instead.

Auto pay can fail

To make payment and reactivate plan .if you know 4 digit PIN number to account  *611 . Or with  a voucher and *611  no PIN is needed . You can also do this by by calling 18554PUBLIC . To get services working and worry about log in afterwards and update credit card if necessary .
