why does it take a few hours for the new account to activate?

Check your APN settings on your phone

It doesn't. Activation is immediate if it worked. What hapenned?

Account should be active instantly

There may be something wrong with the website it has been acting up

@suner hi I assume you mean you are porting a number from another provider? if so that is normal you can use old sim until your port is complete when it stops working you should be good landlines and voip can be much longer where are you porting from?
