Exciting Updates Coming to the Public Mobile Website!

Hello Community,

We've introduced a new update to the Public Mobile website experience. This update will enhance the websites aesthetics and usability, ensuring a consistent and improved look throughout.

What to Expect:

  • Dark Theme: The website will feature a new navy color scheme, upgrading our general look to match our branding.
  • Enhanced Notification Displays: New styles for notifications related to account statuses such as Suspended, Pre-suspended, and Lost/Stolen credit card, all visible from the Overview page.
  • Redesigned Usage Overview Card: Now displaying data usage in a clear, meter-style visualization.
  • Credit Card Update Needed Banners: Banners display when your credit card needs updating or is coming up for expiry to ensure you can edit your information and avoid any loss of service.
  • Direct Link to Payment History: Access your payment history directly from the Overview page for added convenience.
  • Updated Look for Usage History: Refreshed design with the same helpful functionality.
  • Promo Code Integration: You can now apply promo codes directly through the website when making purchases.
  • Updated Plan Cards Design: New designs make your plan details easier to read and manage.
  • Redesigned Receipts and Popups: New designs for a clearer, more attractive presentation.
  • Refreshed Notification Banner for Services on Hold: Improved design for better clarity.

These updates are designed to improve your navigation experience and ensure that managing your mobile service is straightforward and enjoyable. We look forward to you experiencing these enhancements and, as always, we value your feedback.

Thanks very much for your help!:). I still think it would be nice to have the text message option, especially when you are someone who doesn't always check your email as often as some. 

There are a couple ways to subscribe to a thread:

1) Change your global settings to subscribe to any thread you post in.

2) From within a specific thread you can select the 3 dots and manually subscribe to it.

For turning notifications off for a particular thread you'd do the same thing you did for option 2, but select "Unsubscribe" instead.

I see.  I'm not sure how you do that?  And I'm guessing in order to stop getting the emails you need to go back in and find the thread and turn it off??

@Mandaxox87 You can turn on email notifications for subscribed threads and/or mentions, but not SMS. Public Mobile uses third party software to host the community forums, and to be honest I've never seen one that offers text messages notifications.

I apologized if there is already a solution to what I'm asking...I wish there was an option to get a text message if we wished to, when there was a new post in certain categories in the community section. Or at least when someone tags our name in a post!  I always seem to just miss a contest or something of interest cuz I'm to late in seeing it. Would be handy to also maybe see if any topics are of interest without having to go to the community and scroll through.  Wonder what other people's thoughts are on this ?

@slusagm, I appreciate a suggestion. However, as I'm a very frugal person, I will not be using that app as it costs money. Now that you've mentioned that app, I will look for something similar. That doesn't cost anything and I hope it doesn't have ads either LOL.

@Stonechucker2 download Dark Reader, make PM sites as one of them control by "dark" reader. Then you can change the filter (Brightness, contrast, Sepia and see if you can adjust to your liking

@hTideGnowI don't understand what interface you're speaking about. Are you telling me that the community is already in dark theme or are you speaking about the public mobile app?

 

I thought the dark theme was applying to the entire website, including the public forum + whatever else is available. So I'm expecting the screen that I'm looking at right now to be a dark background with light colored text on it in dark theme. However, what I see is an almost white background with dark letters on it, but the letters aren't dark enough for me.

 

On the I don't think you're understanding what I'm asking about. I hope I've clarified it further. Ask. Is Zuckerberg ready to

but I don't see option to change the interface back to light mode.

Yes, I am the retired oracle previously known as simply stone trucker. However, as I still don't like the interface and the requirement to have individually made accounts for new activations or reactivations as I like to call them, I have to keep changing my username when I sign up. So this is my third time being stonechucker2.

The way I read the announcement above the websites were going to be in dark mode not just the app. I was hoping the community forum would be in a dark theme as this blindingly r bright interface with very dim gray letters and numbers in very many areas is very difficult for me to read. I can't even turn dark or dark theme on in my web browser. As for some reason, public mobile is blocking that ability in my browser and I have tried both Firefox and chrome thus far.

I don't think you can change the My Account back to a light theme.

Hello everyone, I have just returned again to public Mobile and I see there is now either coming or is now implemented. A dark theme. Has a stark theme being implemented already and if so where do I find the settings to make it happen for me?

 

I find the grayish text on the very light background is very difficult for me to read and I would prefer a dark background with light colored text.

Stop making it pretty and make it simple. Presently you have a cob web of categories labels tags threads of thought all over the map and no support or useful information to even complete an account registration especially with eversafe. As a new customer with an account that does not work you might guess I am unhappy. You are right.

I think just click on the the cog icon and the details are clear through, I saw when you download data there are more details about how the data is being used

@SonyaF1 Oh yes, detailed historical breakdown has its limitations. But to your initial concern about knowing how close you are to your cap, the current usage is great in the app in its current state.

In Usage history you can filter for how much you used in 7, 15, 30 days etc. But not how much was used in total per subscription cycle.

Will the new Data display be easily accessible on the app? Being able to check how close I am to going over each month (and having a log of monthly usage) would be very helpful!

Actually white/light text on black/dark background is most ergonomic . I agree that dark text on dark background is hard to read, same goes for light text on white background.

Can you please add the ability to change to a lower priced plan while you're making the website pretty? By not allowing people to change this is very anti-consumer, did the telus bean counters get to you guys?
