Actually iMessage uses SMS if there is no data, automatically. That's one of the strong points of iMessages. So you'll be fine. Of course, you get fewer "options" this way (for pictures for instance), but your messages will absolutely be sent.

Many here are always saying PM uses the exact same network as Telus but this is getting more and more clear that it isn't fully true. It's fairly obvious at this point that Telus gives priority to its regular post-paid customers for speed and network...
