Transferred number from another provider

I transferred my number from another provider to public. Everything works except texting. I've rebooted my phone but it still doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ported number not recognized by iphone

Transferred number and confirmed cancellation of Fido account on April 18th. iPhone is still not recognizing the ported number with Public mobile sim installed for iMessages or FaceTime. Unable to receive direct text messages to my cell number.
