Re: can'treceiveincomingcalls

@jeffcorsaut

Did you just activate and port your number in? You need to reply YES to the porting authorization text from your old provider within 90 minutes. Put your old sim card back in your phone and see if you are still within that time frame.

If not leave the old sim card in your phone and either contact the moderators or the telus porting department to reinitiate your port request. You will need your old providers account number. Once you reply YES your port will complete in a few minutes to a maximum of two hours.

If you are porting from pc mobile or koodo prepaid only the moderators can complete the number transfer for you. If you are not a new customer and live in the Ottawa/Gatineau Region there is a system issue. Force your phone into 3G only for the next few days to a week until telus installs the replacement equipment.

Re: can'treceiveincomingcalls

can you do try reseat the SIM card

1.power off your device

2.take out the SIM card,

3.wipe it clean,

4.put it back and power on,

5.toggling airplane mode off/on,

it happened sometime you know, A normal reboot without reset, didn't work. At least try it,

only work after reseating the SIM card.

can you try it selecting the network to "3G ONLY"

for iPhone visit HERE

or HERE

what is mean for Rebooting the phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on.

@jeffcorsaut

Please provide us with more details, and typing legibly in proper sentences (with spaces) helps us too.

There could be many reasons why you're not receiving incoming calls, so you really need to tell us a story!  Here are some random thoughts/ideas...

  • SIM card is not properly activated
  • You didn't turn your phone on
  • Phone is defective/broken
  • Porting/transfer of phone number is not complete
  • Unconditional call forwarding is on
  • Signal is poor in your area
  • Network outage in your area
  • ...etc...

@jeffcorsaut

If you have just ported a phone number over to Public Mobile, a cell phone can take 2-3 hours to complete.

A landline can take up to 7 days to complete (but usually less).

Incoming calls are usually the last to port over.

When the port is complete, the previous account will be cancelled.

Do not cancel your service with the previous provider until port is complete.

For sure. We don't know whether (s)he is a new or existing customer.

@jeffcorsaut can you provide us with some more details ? It'll help us find a solution to your problem. Are you new, did you port a number over ? or are you an existing customer ?

Re: can'treceiveincomingcalls

yup,  it can either be a new activation issue or the recent incoming calls problem in the Ottawa area....
