Hello I was wondering , what I should do when I go and travel . I am leaving for a while and won’t be paying the few months it will Return to my plan in September . Should I put it on a pause

Just to sum up all of the suggestions and clarify a couple of points:

 

  1. You can turn off autopay and allow the account to suspend at the of your current 30 day cycle but this is your least advantageous option. Pay and reactivate by day 85 or so.
  2. If you have an account balance that exceeds your plan amount then you need to suspend via the lost/stolen feature in your account before midnight eastern on the evening of your renewal. Then on day 85 or so resume your service to pay and reactivate.
  3. Suspending via lost/stolen before midnight eastern will keep your voicemail active allowing you retrieve voicemail and any verification sent by phone calls. However your rewards will not be applied to your account. Moderator/CSA contact after paying and reactivating is necessary to have the rewards applied manually.
  4. Voicemail can be accessed by calling your pm number from a different phone by calling your phone # and pressing * once connected and entering your 4 digit voicemail pin #.
  5. If you don't have an account balance or enough balance to cover your plan amount you can suspend via lost/stolen after midnight but before 2 am eastern on the day of your renewal. Once your rewards have been applied (usually by 12:15 am et) then suspend your account. Voicemail access will be lost.
  6. Switching to the $15 plan with rewards helping to cover a partial or full amount of your plan allows you to call forward your pm number to your fongo number  before you leave Canada.. Now any incoming calling to your pm number will ring thru to your fongo number while on wifi or mobile data (w/a local or global sim card) You can access your fongo voicemail for all voicemail messages.

Most important mark on your calendar day 85 of your suspension and day 90. Do not forget when you must unsuspend your account via lost/stolen and/or pay and reactivate your service so you don't lose your phone number and account. Happy travels!

you may Remove your Autopay from your account. 

The account will then be in Suspended status at the end of the current cycle due to non-payment.  

(you can also use Suspend Service if you want to do it manually, especial if you have Available Fund on the account) 

 

 

From that day the account is suspended, you have 90 days to come back and Reactivate the service.   I suggest you to do so around 85th day just in case.

 

Wen you are ready to come back, go back online and pay manually.  After you pay, check if the status change back to Active.  Likely not and you have to click the Reactivate current plan. Once you click that, restart your phone and you are back into public mobile,

Depending on your rewards. Another option would be to change plan to $15 plan minus rewards and continue to pay. That is, if you have a decent amount of rewards...like 10 or so. Then use Fongo over wi-fi to retrieve any voice mails. 

yes, as suggested above, you can just put suspend the account.  Don't remove the credit card, just take off Autopay.  Let it expired at the end of the cycle. 

 

Make the day count correct, come back no later than 85th day to pay the plan and reactivate the account.  When do reactivate the account, make sure payment is made and you see status is Active.   If anything goes wrong, you have 5 days to work with mod to get the issue resolved.

 

If you miss the 90 days after suspension, you number will be gone and account will be closed permanently

 @Liah-28 : End of June to end of September is about 3 months. Depending on your actual renewal date, maybe you'll be fine to not renew and then pay up again when you return.

Turn off autopay. That's it if you don't have enough in the account to renew.  If you have enough balance to renew, go into lost/stolen mode to prevent the renewal.  Turn off lost/stolen mode before 90 days or pay and reactivate and renew plan before account has been suspended 90 days. If you wait 90 days, your account and phone number will be gone.
