Not an auspicious beginning!

Switched to PM from Koodo, installed SIM card, found signal, but no web, email or messaging. Had to hunt about here and see people who had similar issues--*you still need to configure the cell network on the phone*. I would have thought such an essential step would be a very prominent Step 4 on the list of things to do, with a link to appropriate instructions (for iPhone, Android or whatever). Not the best start, PM!

Yeah, most of us had to manually enter the APN settings.  

 

Since almost everyone has to deal with it, your suggestion is a good one.. a step 4 with APN settings instructions would be nice to have.
