@stevenanto No idea what other carriers count or don't count when it comes to toll free numbers.

This particular behaviour at least seems consistent across Telus Mobility, Koodo, and Public Mobile. (All telus owned brands). Also, my VoIP home phone provider voip.ms on a pay-per-use plan does not charge for toll free calls.

Keep in mind this behaviour is not "officially" free - but it is for now. It might change at any time, or it might not. 😁 Just monitor your minutes used in your plan semi-regularly (or watch these forums heh) so you aren't surprised if it does change...

@kb_mv I remember years ago it used to count into my minutes (when I was with Rogers) I went over my minutes because I had to call lots of toll free numbers that month and then got shocked when the bill came in, called customer service and they said it’s just toll free. Had I called through my landline it would be fine.

@stevenanto  No toll free does not use minutes. Spent hours on toll free calls with stores (missing shipments etc) never once did it charge a minute.

Checking your voicemail does cost minutes. However using TEXTNOW you can listen to voicemails free and save your minutes. I made a quick guide on textnow. Link below.

@stevenanto No they don't. I made a call to a toll free number last month, 27 minutes long and it didn't count towards my 100 mins.
