Cannot receive calls from landlines

BBarber
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

I cannot receive calls from landlines. It seems that it is specifically Telus landlines.

When a person phones they get the message that my number is 'no longer in use'.

I can receive cell calls, texts and I can phone cells and all landlines - I simply do not receive calls from Telus landlines.

Thank you for your thoughts. The CSA was able to find a solution, so I'm working again and very happy with all of the help! 🙂

After you have done restart and re-seating SIM

Try these on your velvet.

Turn on automatic network mode selection

Toggle between Airplane mode off/On.

Still cant receive calls from Telus landlines, then CSA will be able to check it for you.

If this is not a porting issues...just throwing this out there - are you an iphone user?

If so, set up your phone number On your iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings > Messages and make sure that iMessage is on. You might need to wait a moment for it to activate.
  2. Tap Send & Receive. If you see “Use your Apple ID for iMessage,” tap it and sign in with the same Apple ID that you use on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch.
  3. In the "You can receive iMessages" section, make sure that your phone number and Apple ID are selected.
  4. Go to Settings > FaceTime and make sure that your phone number and Apple ID are selected in the "You can be reached by FaceTime at" section.

Thank you for the help,

I went through these instructions, but it doesn't appear to have solved the issue.

I have created a Ticket to see if it is something else.

Hello,

It's been about 5 days - everything else is working great. I did receive a landline call from a Shaw account ... It seems to be Telus (though this is also the predominant landline service in our region). I ported in from Virgin Plus.

Thank you

@BBarber You just joined PM?  did you port you number from another provider?  If so, how long you have ported your number?

If you have just ported your number, it's normal that not all incoming calls will come to your new home (PM) right a way.  It usually take couple days to sort everything out.   (but it is just weird that Telus landline has trouble locating you..unless you were ported from Telus or Koodo)

@BBarber

That is weird, maybe check with a PM CS Agent by creating a ticket.

There might be a glitch.
