Can't send or receive Picture Messages

Quad4x4

I am having trouble sending and receiving Picture texts. I have my data on but it just tells me "Unable to download at this time try again later"

When I try to send a picture it just spins and spins but never sends.

I know my data is on because I am able to go on the internet.

Hi there,

Make sure your MMSC is correct. (aliasREdirect). Without the RE (no caps) your data will work but MMS will not. Also leave APN TYPE blank. Hope this helps

@Quad4x4 Sound very much like a mms setting issue.

Are re you using an iPhone and is this related to iMessage?

As as others have mentioned above, please double check your APN and mms settings and reboot the phone.  Make sure your wifi is off and mobile data is on.

Hey @Quad4x4,

Go back to the APN settings page on your phone.

Scroll down to the line that say "APN type"  and enter "default, mms, supl"

Save and reboot and then test.  This should most likely resolve it.

Also, MMS needs a data connection so make sure you switch off wifi when testing MMS.

it really does sound like an apn setting... try deleting and creating a new one.  double check the mms parts...

you can try a third party messaging app like textetra (i think that is the one i remember readuing on thr forums)

some phones required a factory reset (some LGs) but i don't think i have heard of s7 needing that?

Maybe deleting/formatting the cache partition.... you would need to google that....

I have checked and my APN settings are correct , I am able to use my data when I am away from WIFI so I know my Data works fine.

I have never been able to send or receive with PM but had no issues with my previous carrier . I have a Samsung S5 Active

Hi, is it possible you have wifi enabled but not data? I know on my s3 i always have to turn on data and then restart my phone before I'm able to send or receive picture messages. Also, make sure your APN settings are set up properly.
