This program provides eligible applicants with:
- $0 per month plan (including applicable taxes) for two years
- Unlimited Canada-wide talk and text
- 3 GB of data per month with Peace of Mind
- Access to a refurbished smartphone at no cost
- No long-term contract or cancellation fees
- Internet connectivity for $9.95/month (plus applicable taxes) for 24 months; regular pricing thereafter
- Speeds of up to 25 megabits per second (where available) and unlimited monthly data
- Option to purchase a low cost refurbished computer through BC Technology for Learning Society
Eligibility requirements:
For, low-income families:
- Receive the maximum Child Care Benefit
- Can provide a recent Canada Child Benefit (CCB) statement showing your family net income of less than or equal to $31,120
For, out of care youth:
- Have lived experience in the child welfare system and can produce a letter of eligibility completed on your behalf by a ministry/agency representative
- Are between the age of majority in the province where you currently reside (see below) and age 26 at the time of your application
For, low income seniors:
- Receive the GIS benefit
- Can provide your Old Age Security statement, also known as the T4A(OAS), indicating an amount paid to you in box 21 (net supplements paid)
