For those curious/interested, more info has come to light on what Rogers plans to do for the future to avoid massive outages like last week. It appears to involve carving out their core network separating wireless and wireline networks. It will also take up to 18 months to implement.
Either way, there is no replacement for being diversified across multiple carriers/providers...because tech *always* fails...and most have no SLAs. Prepare accordingly. 😉
