Tenent was hot garbage.
Honest Thief was bad.
Spree was bad.
WW84 was just weird.
Mulan was meh.
Soul was beautiful, but the plot was just okay.

@Korth I completely agree with you, everyone has different tastes and comfort levels. I do like to watch movies at my house too since we have the whole big screen and and huge speakers, especially now with the kids its is easier. But we still head out to movies a few times a year to watch certain movies that only look best on huge screens like jurrasic park, king kong and so on. I wouldnt head to the movies to watch a comedy.

I prefer watching movies at home instead of at cinema. I can control the volume, I can pause, I can eat and drink whatever I like. I don't have to share the experience with loud idiots, screaming children, distracting ringtones. I never have to wait in lineups for anything. And it's a helluva lot cheaper.
Maybe I don't get to watch the very latest and greatest hottest new shows right now. But I'm patient, I know they'll release on DVD or on stream in a few months. There's always plenty of other stuff to watch. There's always plenty of other things to do instead.

@softech Yeah its been a crazy year, but I just dont see people paying 25$ to rent a movie from home. I know disney has done something like that with Mulan, but when I think of this I remember Vince Guzzo( owns a chain of movie theaters around montreal). He was asked now that people have bigger tv at home like 80-105 inch do you think people will still come to the movies. His reply was put that tv in front of one of our screens and tell me what you think.
This is the same reasoning as someone who has fully renovated their kitchen and appliances, does this mean they will not want to go out to eat a restaurant?
I hope this covid will low over soon and things will start returning back to normal.

movie studio has been stand still due to Covid last year.. with pandemic nowhere close to end .. i think they have no choice but to adopt to the new norm now.. more new movies will certainly come out this year.. just maybe in a different format (not in theatre release but streaming..)
now, it's just a matter if they will make money this way.. if we are willing to pay $25 for each movie..the reception will decide how the new norm will be post-covid

And yet the same number of Oscars are handed out every year. Even when all the movies are unworthy garbage. Even when outstandingly superb movies outnumber the available awards.

I just ripped "to die for" Nicole kidman's mid 90s dark thriller. I forgot how gorgeous she was before she became resin filled.
A huge talent. A huge star filled production.
