I saw that Telus mobility is also adding a few other things now to help.

From the Telus web site.

  • Waiving all Easy Roam® and pay-per-use roaming charges for postpaid Mobility customers that are stranded outside North America* and are unable to return to Canada

*Note: North America includes all Caribbean and Central American countries

Additionally, we’ll support our customers facing financial challenges because of COVID-19 by providing them with flexible payment options. We don’t want anyone to worry about not being able to pay their bill on time if they have been financially affected by the crisis.

Well to be fair the idea is to help Canadian stay home, how is free mobile data going to do that?

It's possible that you're not at home but don't feel confortable or have been advised not to travel to get home.  Free mobile data would help in those cases.

@CFraser

You might have noticed most of the data caps have been removed for home internet (not for cell phone)

I think it is unlikely that we will get free data from Public for the month.

Good news is shaw is allowing everyone to use the shaw go WiFi hotspots!

Do you know if public mobile is offering up free mobile data for the month?
