@___ @its spotty and not as reliable due to the 3G issue, some report no problems while others report it almost being unusable. So kind of hot and miss, may be better off with a local prepaid data option and/or voip apps, hopefully they improve this going forward and transition to a little more modern structure

How does impact travel to the US where US carriers  are shutting down to 3G Netwerk? For example, If I buy a U.S. data add on does it mean it has no impact because I’m actually on the 4G network (throttled) or will it not function because the 3G network doesn’t exist in the United States anymore?

My plan jumps from 3G to 4G depending on the service level at the moment.

Does this mean that even though my phone on the $15 plan shows connected to LTE it’s actually reduced down to 3G speed?

@Plan   Yes it is.  If it shows LTE, it is down to 3Mbps

You can make a manual change in the Preferred network to 3G ONLY, speed could go up to 12Mbps or higher.  But be aware that the latency is higher in 3G.  So, depends on what you are downloading/watching, it can be worse with the higher speed. But try it out

But again, LTE @3Mpbs is enough for general web browsing or video chat with SD quality

Throttled down to 3G yes, no big difference for browsing etc but can definitely be different for more advanced things.

@liuxinbing   You can connect to 3G for data as well.  3G data can go to around 12Mpbs or more

And we are using 3G for voice as well

With a large number of customers migrating and to ensure no one is left out in the cold, we’ve made the decision to change the turndown date from the January 31 to May 31, 2017. We hope this provides you with ample time to transition networks and find a device that is right for you.

In order to avoid any disruption in service, TELUS Business customers should please contact their TELUS account representative or dealer to plan their transition to 4G service and to find the device that best fits their needs.

We’re here to help – contacts us before then to stay connected
The CDMA network technology is reaching the end of its service life and is being replaced by newer, faster and more reliable wireless networks (HSPA, LTE and 4G LTE). It is increasingly difficult to support the network because of the limited availability of the CDMA equipment required to maintain it.

After May 31st, 2017, CDMA devices will no longer be able to access any of our mobile networks. To avoid any service disruption you will require a 4G eligible device to connect to the TELUS mobile network.
