Seems the mods take the easy way and just clear the whole post rather than the careful editing that the Oracles do. Sigh. (assuming the OP didn't) Thanks for what you do Oracles.

Do you see public mobile?

 @theblacklabel31 : Your contacts are likely on the other phone. You would need to copy them over. There are many ways to do that and I don't know how technically inclined you are.

 @theblacklabel31 :

So here's the method

1. buy SIM

2. activate it

3. pay for a plan during that

4. have compatible, unlocked phone

4. insert SIM

5. restart phone

If phone not unlocked, ask previous provider.

If phone not compatible, get a different phone.

Again...what make/model/submodel phone do you have the Public Mobile SIM in?

@theblacklabel31

Is this the screen message you are getting?

@theblacklabel31 you bought a sim card for $10. That's all.  You don't have a Public Mobile service yet.

You have to activate that sim card.

go here Activation Portal to activate the sim card.  Choose a plan here.  Pay for your plan. Complete the 4 steps of activation.

@theblacklabel31     Are you trying to change SIMs for an existing account?  If you are that can only be done by moderators for now.  You'll need to submit a ticket via chatbot and follow prompts here:  https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html

 @theblacklabel31 : Ok we have some answers. Apparently I could have been clearer.

Was the payment for the plan successful? The $10 was likely for the SIM alone.

What do you mean "wifi number"? Maybe doesn't matter as you said it's a new number.

By locked I meant is the phone unlocked from a previous provider? That 10 count thing sounds like needing to put in an unlock code. You need to get that from a previous provider.

LG what? Just the phone that you wish to use with the Public Mobile SIM.

 @theblacklabel31 : Please fully describe what all you have done. It's rather hard for us to read your mind over these short sentences of very little information. Have you read the prior replies in this thread? Answer the questions or follow the suggestions.

I CANT GET MY SIM ACCTIVATION

@theblacklabel31 ,

If you are trying to activate a new SIM card/account, and you received an invalid SIM error, and your credit card was not charged, than after waiting 50 minutes for another attempt, make sure to:

  • clear your browser's cache or try a different browser
  • open a tab in incognito mode to complete the activation

IF you did complete the SIM activation, and your credit card was charged, and you are receiving a SIM error message,

Try one or more of the below:

*turn off your phone, leave off for a minutes, then reboot

*removing your SIM for a few minutes, then reinserting it

*go into airplane mode for a few minutes, then going back to regular mode

*reboot your phone again

*is your PHONE LOCKED?

Contact your previous provider to unlock it for you.

You will need your imei number, dial *#06# to get it.

SIM ACTIVATION NOT WORKING

Are you someone trying to become a new customer or are you trying replace your existing Public Mobile SIM card?

@theblacklabel31

If you have attempted to activate you must wait out the the 50 min session lock before you try again or you will get an error message when you enter the sim number again.

@theblacklabel31 What happens when you go to https://activate.publicmobile.ca/? Enter your sim card and proceed with providing other info?
