Can't receive MMS

mrelf007

Suddenly today I have not been able to receive/send any MMS anymore on my phone, SMS still works and so does calling. I have tried changing SMS apps (I usually use the phone default), checking the APN settings and readding it again, also have restarted my phone multiple times and tried removing the SIM and putting it back in the phone. Only thing I haven't tried yet is a full factory reset.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Still no luck with sending MMS, I have PM the mods now to see if they can find out anything.

I'm still having trouble sending MMS, but no problem receiving them now, but this issue is quite annoying to be still on going.

No luck yet. I sent a PM to the moderator team about the IP / potential MMS server issues. Will report back if I get any response.

jdubdub,

Did your MMS start working yet at all?

I woke up this morning and a couple mms came through that I was able to now download. However, I tried to send some again to myself and other people to no success (which is still the same)

Mobile data has always been on and I have specifically turned the wifi off to test. There has been no issue with being able to use my data for other services, I still have 9+GB left on my 90 day plan. No data restriction issues either.

In my usage history it shows the mms now that I had downloaded this morning.

Mms that I am sending are just "queued for sending" and when trying to download mms error of "cannot download message"

Not able to update from Android 5.1.1. No other issues noted with my phone plan either still.

Hi there, I'm also not able to send/receive MMS messages suddenly as well.

I'm also on Android 5.1 (no upgrade possible on my phone).

After following a few threads about resetting APNs and/or making new ones, I just tried pinging the IP 74.49.0.18, which is listed as the MMS proxy in the APN settings, and it's getting no response.

I had a look at the MMSC server address,

http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc

.. and in a web browser, it redirected alright, to a Casino site.

A second time putting the address in redirected to http://ww1.aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc, which looks contains links with dubious names like:

" Watch Smallville Online Free / Watch Smallville Season 9"

I wonder if the MMS redirect service's domain name has not been renewed, is parked, or is otherwise unavailable?

I had similar probs. ... 1. leave data on. If still no mms try factory restore...if still no mms time to upgrade from Android 5.1.1     ...good luck 🙂

To receive MMS you need the cellular data on . So check your cellular data icon in the settings and keep it on.. it doesn’t matter if you have internet or not just keep it on. All the best

Is MOBILE data still working? Turn off your wifi to test. MMS uses cellular data not wifi and let us know if that it working. Have you confirmed you still have data left in your plan and its working?

Confirm that your phone is not using a data restriction for mobile data. Confirm that you do not have a firewall. The messaging service might show up a system service something other than 10101, watch your logs.

Make sure you are sending an MMS to a 10 or 11 digit phone number.

Are you only having trouble sending MMS to 1 contact or everyone? If 1 contact delete them from your contac book and manually enter their number to see if that fixes it.

Does the message show that it sends? Or does the phone give you an error? What happens if you MMS yourself?

If it looks like the MMS is sent, go to self serve. Check usage history. Does it show MMS in your history? https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/Overview/viewUsageChangePlan/
