Currently an account goes suspended when it comes off of an active plan and then 90 days later is deleted, which includes lose of phone number. This doesn;t work well for people who are do out of the country for extended periods, an example would be snowbirds that head south for 6 months every winter. People can currently manage this by either switching to a minimal plan while they are away (that they won't use, cheapest is $45 for 90 days 1g data only), or they can wait until the 90 days is almost over and add a minimal 10 day plan (cheapest $10 Canada wide text only) to get another 100 days before deletion, but this is risky in case they forget and miss the 90 day cutoff.

 

What I am proposing is an add-on that will let people buy addition "away days" up front. Then, if they reach the normal 90 day suspend days limit but have additional away days available in their add-ons, their account would not be deleted until the away days are used up. This would greatly simplify things for anyone who is planning to be away for more than 90 days, and believe that would help PM retain those customers.

Like the idea. Suggest small modification to make it a 90 day "plan" rather than an add-on. Say $10 for 90 days with autopay option but no rewards; and length of service is also suspended. That way it's set it and forget it.

Sure, that would work as well. That would effectively be the 90 day version of the no talk, no text, no data plan that I asked about yesterday on this thread but was not available (only a little cheaper as the normal 90 day base is $25):

Thanks for the great suggestion. This is something we are thinking about, however will not be implementing in the short to medium term. As soon as something like this is implemented, we will be sure to let you and the rest of the community know.
