PM should allow us to have flexibility carrying over un-used data to next billing period. Please consider to have this option for at least 90 day plan users.
They already offer HUGE FLEXIBILITY with the 90 day plan where you aren't limited to 1/3 of your data bucket monthly. That is a HUGE benefit already vs other providers
Who doesn't want more FLEXIBILITY? Like some other carriers pay as you go plans, talk minutes can be keeping carried over until the plan is stopped or not paid.
We get that with our LD addons here and probably data not sure I haven't had to purchase one. Flexibility is great but i do think we have a great thing here as is. I got in on the fall promo of 12gb I renew end of January and haven't used 4 yet. I think we need the larger carriers to start to realize that customers want better deals for their mobile needs and have true competion. Their price fixing is like the cost of Gasoline if it were competitive there would be variance in the pricing.
the additional data that you can buy is able to be rolled over if you have any un-used data. I think the 90 day plan is fair, and shouldnt let data roll over. Im on the 12GB plan and only have used 2GBs so far and my next payment is in Febuary
The concept of allowing the data to roll over past 90 days may sound great. Practically speaking, it is probably not so useful. Unless there was a very unusual situation, it is likely the average data usage within each 90 day period is about the same as any other 90 day period. If there is excess from one period, there will likely be excess from the next. This suggestionwill merely lead to accumulation.
@will13am, your comments actually support the idea:
1) Agreed, data usage should remain consistant which limits any risk of additional cost incurred by PM.
2) To avoid excess accumulation I would set an expiry on rolled-over data of say three or six months. This would avoid PM having customers with tons of unused data ready to burn up. A maximum amount of rolled-over data could also be enforced.
Our American friends are very good at understanding what "Unlimited" or "roll-over" benefits cost and they are even better at setting safety nets to stop abuse of their offers.
I would love to know what percentage of PM customers use over 95% of, or max-out their data limits each pre-paid term.....
I have this suggestion because this is the first 90 days I use PM and I only used about 10% of 6GB data and I was thinking it will be good if the un-used data can be rolled over as sometimes we may go for short trips 1 to a few days out of city which is good if we could accumulate data and can have enough GB to be used from our rolled over data during the trips.
I'm on 12GB plan, and I really don't think I'm ever going to use more than 25% of my data. Last 90 period, I only had 6 GB, and I didn't hit 50%, and I was streaming music, and using other data apps more often than on smaller data amounts.
*IF* the data was to roll over, I'd never use it. One day, I'd have 144 GB, and have no idea what to do with it.
@stonechucker You can switch to 6GB plan and save $. If you go on trips within Canada, you'll have more flexibility with data usage without paying extra, agree?
@mikga, I'm actually on the Fall Promo, which is the same price as the 6GB plan I was on. I upgraded only because the price was the same. Public Mobile gave me the option to do this via Future Dated plan change, so I took them up on the opportunity, without having to pay more.
But yes, if I was on a different plan with 12GB, I would agree switching down to 5 would be better for me.
