iPhone SE cannot use data

ilovecats516

I have an iPhone SE, and I can't get it to connect to the data network. The help page here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/set-up-data-on-an-iphone is outdated because you can't edit the MMSC or the MMS Proxy on an iPhone. I've also tried unlocker.co.nz but that doesnt work either.

@Jfo7If you are using the last few iOS 11, 12.. you do not mess with the APN settings. Apple will push the settings via the carrier profile.

In having the same problems, no fields available to change the  settigx

Unhelpful directions!

So, what I didn't realize is that Safari was turned off in my data settings, and so when I tried to use it to test my data, it told me that I wasnt connected to the internet. Thanks for all your answers.

You can also try the SIM card in another phone and see if your data works on there.

@ilovecats516

If network reset does not work, maybe try factory reset. Make sure to backup info.

does your apn settings look like this?

APN:     sp.mb.com

MMSC:     http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc

MMS Proxy:     74.49.0.18

MMS Proxy Post: 80

MMC:     302

MNC:     220

does wifi works on the phone ?

Also, is it at all likely that data function was locked by a previous carrier like if it was bought on ebay or something ? I heard something about that happening in philippines except it was android not ios. Good luck.

Try doing the Lost/Stolen phone trick.

What you do is you go to your Self Serve, go to "Lost/Stolen Phone" and click Suspend Service

Log out and wait a few minutes.

Log back in and go back to "Lost/Stolen Phone" and reactivate your service.

Weird. Check your Self Serve page and check to see what your Data Usage is at.

I assume your talk and text works

I just switched to Public today with my SE.

Make sure to go to: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network

From ther type in the APN: sp.mb.com

Leave the rest blank.

If you have already done that, make sure to reboot your phone! Smiley Happy

did you do the network reset?

ilovecats516

@ilovecats516 , how about doing a network reset, reboot and let the phone pick up the APN information automatically.
