here is how you get picture messaging to work.

1) open your web browser and go to www.unlockit.co.nz

2) click "create apn" at the bottom left corner

3) pick Canada in the "country" scrolling menu

4) pick Public Mobile in the "carrier" scrolling menu

5) follow the steps and restart iphone afterwards

From previous experience in other threads, iphone 4 is not compatible with MMS messaging.  Even with proper APN settings.  Check out htis thread by CalgaryBen

@Pgstreetglide  Hopefully it's a 4S model.

I also found this as a possible fix, woth a try. Smiley Happy

The only way to manually set APN on an iphone 4/4s without jailbreaking the phone is to use Apple Configurator software. If you currently own a MAC it is available here.

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/apple-configurator-2/id1037126344?mt=12

and here are the instuctions to set up a new APN profile to then install on your iphone 4/4s

Another option would be to see if the apple store can help you with this at their genius bar, as without a jailbreak or thsis softeware manual entry of the correct APN is not possible on iphone 4/4s

@Pgstreetglide  Even though MMS texts don't use data, you must have data turned on the phone. You also need to have the correct APN settings on the phone.

These are the Public Mobile APN settings you need:

Name: Public Mobile
APN: sp.mb.com
Proxy: Leave blank
Port: Leave blank
Username: Leave blank
Password: Leave blank
Server: Leave blank
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMSC proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: Leave blank
APN type: default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: GID
MVNO value: 4D4F

Don't forget to save these settings and then select this APN as the active one.

If you need to know where to find the settings:
Android
Settings > More / More Networks / Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > New APN setting (or a plus sign)

Iphone
Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Network
OR
Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network.

Do you have data turned on?  It doesn't actually use data to send a picture text msg but it still needs to be on.

@Pgstreetglide

Due to the age of iphone 4 and IOS system, it does not support Picture messaging (ie.  MMS messaging) with Public mobile.
