New activation: Missing '$30 for 1 GB 4G LTE' plan?

TOB

Hi there,

I'm trying to activate a new sim card for a friend, but I can't find the following plan in the list of 'Ready-Made Plans'.

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/qc/plans/30for1GB-4GLTE

Is the plan for existing customers only? If I initially choose one of the other $30 plans, will I be able to switch to this plan after the activation process?

Thanks

@CellPhoneFreak  what ever plan you currently have or have futuredate to is locked in until you decide to change it. Or unless pm notifies you that your plan will have a price increase.

April 26, 2019:

On April 22, 2019, I changed my existing $30/mth (500 MB) Plan to the Promotional $25/mth (500 MB + 500 MB  Bonus for Auto-Pay) Plan and today, I noticed that the $30/mth (500 MB) Plan is now a (500 MB + 500 MB  Bonus for Auto-Pay) Plan.

Question: On April 28, 2019 when my new month begins, will I be charged $25/mth or $30/mth?

Thanks.

I take the activation or My Account plan builder to be 'in-market' plans right now, not the specific listing of the plan on the plans page.

We all know in a digital age, things get out of order when changes are being made, and for whatever reason, that plan still shows on the 'advertised plans' page, however, it's not been announced as cancelled, and it's not available in the selections 'available'.

I have a hard time disagreeing with you on this that it should be available, but the company will probably argue it isn't, and it was a mistake to keep it showing.

Good luck getting the plan you desire.

You could try building your own plan like others have mentioned.

Yes. But the point is that it's a posted plan. Maybe an oversight on the part of the company but it's showing as a current in-market plan. They should honour it.

Good to know, @mimmo . Just replicated it.

 @TOB

Take screenshots of the main in-market Plans page showing the presence of that $30 plan you're interested in.

And a screenshot of the resulting click-through for it too. The company might just remove it. But hopefully they'll at least honour it for you for now.

@TOB while you're waiting for a reply from the moderators, have you/friend considered the $30 3G plan with 1GB data and unlimited talk/text?  Not sure what your friend is going to be doing, but the 3G is throttled LTE and is fast enough for most people (email, GPS/maps, web searches).  Unless they do online gaming or need to download/upload large amounts of files/data, 3G may fit their needs.

It's really quite simple, all I want is to buy the 30-day plan advertised on Public Mobile's website here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/qc/plans/30for1GB-4GLTE

For some reason it's not showing up in the list of available plans upon activation. Who can help me with this?

Interesting. Nor is it showing in the Change Plan list.

@Alan_K: I know you're all busy with everything else going on but can you honour this for the customer?

@TOBData only plan means no Talk or Text included. Is that what you want?

Yes, that's exactly what I want.

Note, if you activate and pay for a plan (30 day cycle), then immediately change to another plan, you will be charged the full amount right away for the new plan and there are no refunds or pro-rating of fees paid.  Your new 30 day cycle would also begin from that point.  So it is better to select the plan you want (if it's available) when you activate.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the 'Build your own plan' option shows $42 for 1GB of 4G LTE data, not $30 as advertised on the PM website.

Prices are subject to change without notice.  What is there today is the so called suite of in market plans.  Note that grandfathered plans can change subject to terms and conditions.

@TOB  all public promos are an teh 3g (throttled lte) data plans.
