New Plan at 3G Speed

Recent promotions are at 3G speed, is PM no longer  supported LTE/4G?

It is actually just very unfortunate marketing.

The "3G speeds" actually mean that it is LTE, but the speed is limited to 3Mbps for download and upload. It is slower than actual 3G speeds, but with some other benefits of LTE - the downloads might be slow-ish and high-res streaming is problematic, but it should actually be a bit more responsive for simple apps and games. Most people here call it "LTE Lite".

Feel free to see the experiences here, I posted some SpeedTest results as well:

Personally, I'd way rather have more 3G data then less data at a slightly faster LTE speed.  I've found that 3G speeds are perfectly fine for almost anything you want to do, unless you're someone who constantly streams netflix on their phone.  They have incredible deals for 3G right now, I would take advantage.

Right now the LTE plans are not discounted.  Who wants to pay full retail?  Anyway, the 3G (LTE lite) plans are well priced and are plenty adequate for typical usage.  There have been numerous discussions about LTE vs 3G.  This thread provides one of the most recent reviews on this topic.  @tqlam, take a look for yourseld and decide whether this type of plan meets your needs.

Further to what @cappaj said... it's LTE throttled down to 3G speeds. From what I understand from some of the "experts" in here, the latency time is still as fast as LTE, and that's what's more important than overall download speed. Unless you're streaming using your phone, you won't notice.  Do I have that right?!  (going out to the experts in this community! Robot wink)

The Public Mobile does have LTE/4G, but more expensive and no recent promotions.  Check out the plan section.

They have LTE options still, just not in the promos.

Keep in mind that their "3G" is actually a speed-capped LTE connection (3Mbps) - for average day to day use (like email, web browsing, Facebook, etc.) most people don't notice a difference between capped and uncapped LTE. (I think even video streaming and gaming can be fine, but I haven't tried those things much myself.)
