I'm getting a lot of dropped calls, no help from "tech support".
I'm switching to another provider, I can't handle this, it's not worth saving $10/month.
I've deleted my auto pay information, and I'll port out my number to another carrier before the end of the 30 days. Is this all that's required?

You don't cancel. If you are taking number with you, have new carrier port it.
