Data not working.

Hello everyone hope you are all doing well.

 

This my first day and it's not starting well. I have 8gb with my plan and i try to use some data

It's telling me that i'm off line. Not sure what to do to make it work.

I'm this close to go back with virgin.

OK, this is what they will ask:

-does MMS work

-can you confirm that the APN setings is https://apn-canada.gishan.net/en

-toggle airplane mode on then off

-your phone is set to use mobile data for your browser

-have you reset network settings

-have you removed then installed the sim card

Would you be willing to type out/transcribe what you see in the APN settings so that we can see if what is there is wrong?

thank you everyone for all your replies..it look like i need more help or something..if this things doesnt get resolve i going back with virgin and kissing my 50$ goodbye

If you are able to post a scrrenshot of you APN settings that may hekp. If you can log into the community with your phone then screenshot and post yourr APN settings. Make sure not to get any personal information.

yes i did..and its still not working. i guess im gonna have to wait for a moderator to get back to me.

It could be up to a couple days.

Have you gone through the APN settings?

Again with my old Androids but maybe similar for a newer

Settings/Mobile network/Access Point Names

You might see things in there. Maybe you can delete them. Maybe you can edit them. Not sure. Make the items match the reference way above in this thread.

II assume you are connected to wifi with your phone? To take a screenshot you press the home and power button at the same time and hold them. after a second or 2 you should hear the flash go. Then post it here.

Here are the samsung directions to mobile network setup.

1> Settings 2 > More settings > Mobile networks. If you mark the Mobile data option, your device will connect to your carrier's wireless data network.

That's the one. Other than the m at the end it looks like that phone should be fine. So yes...APN.

I have an old LG with an old Android. Surely it would be the same route....Go into Settings and all the way down to About phone. Go in there and see what you see.

From a quick search it says it is under the battery. you will need to turn your phone off and remove the battery. You should see model, IMEI number and serial number. Write them all down.


BUT DON'T GIVE US THE IMEI #!


Yes, we don't need the serial number either but they are good for you to have.


I was going more for privacy and tracking possibilities.
