Restoring grandfathered plan help

Hello Public Mobile Community,

This question is mainly directed at the Public Mobile Specialists or Representatives that can help my particular case.

On September 17th I called into Public Mobile customer support (I had a grandfathered plan) to port in a number I had with Bell and override my then current Public Mobile number. For some reason the porting processes was canceled and my account became instantly inactive.

I called on September 22nd to understand what happened and spoke to a Public Mobile representative named Alina who acknowledge that it was some sort of system glitch with the failed porting as traditionally it takes 90 days for an account to become inactive. Unfortunately she explained that her hands were tied and there was nothing she could do once the account is inactive. She advised me to post this situation on the forum and see if I could get a resolution from a specialist. Please see the notes she placed on my account for my now inactive phone number that will corroborate the above story.

I had a plan I really liked at $19/month and want to continue to be a Public Mobile customer. I really don’t want to lose my grandfathered plan, and never expressed to give up or make my account inactive. I really do want to keep it going and am willing to start again as soon as possible. If activating this account is impossible, would it be possible to start a new account but have a credit applied so I effectively pay $19/month?

Help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Grandfathered plan help!

Re: Grandfathered plan help!

Hello,

Please delete your number as soon as possible as this is a public, not private, forum. The Google search bot visits several times per day to record all information. Further, your number is irrelevant here, as we are customers like you. As such, we do not have access to your account information.

In light of customer assistance stating that it was unable to help you, you should send a private message to @Mansi_G and @Moid_I. They are community managers, employees of Public Mobile. Assuming that you did nothing irreversible (such as deactivating your Bell account), Mansi and/or Moid will do their best to resolve your situation.

Cheers.

Hi @gpech,

Normally when a Public Mobile plan goes inactive, it's hard to get it back. However, let me tag @Mansi_G, @Jeremy_M & @Moid_I and see if they can assist.

Good luck

Re: Restoring grandfathered plan help

Hello,

The OP's post is identical to another one from last night. He's therefore spamming. In my reply, I explained that he should send private messages to @Mansi_G and @Moid_I, who would then work with him to resolve his problem, assuming that he did nothing irreversible, like closing his Bell account.

@Martin OP aka "opi wan kenobi", or is it, "opie" from Andy Griffith show? Acronyms are sooo confusing. 😅

Luddite,

Your sense of humour is starting to falter. This is no doubt due to a decrease in brain power caused by your very admirable work in replying to post after post.

I strongly suggest that you wear your colander, inverted of course, and switch it to dormant mode. The switch is on the right. When in dormant mode, your brain will be allowed to rest and recuperate. At the same time, the Mother Ship will provide answers to you, so that you won't need to tax your brain.

@Martin Laughter is a wonderful restorative. Heeding your advice, switch on & am now dormant. 😔
