i would imagine all carriers use pretty much the same freqency. Pretty sure, dont overthink it and geek out.

@slash407 You imagine? Maybe check first before you post that?

You're somewhat right in that Rogers, Bell, and Telus do all use 850MHz (B5) and 1900MHz (B2) 3G networks, and all 3 operated Band 4 (AWS/1700+2100MHz) 4G LTE as well as some other LTE bands in common.  Freedom I think is a different ball game, and I have no idea what networks Videotron/Fizz operate.

First of all this thread has already been marked as solved.

Secondly, the first link you provided doesn't indicate compatibility...just blacklist. Much like the checker on this site.

Hi Chris3M,

To test your phone’s compatibility with our network, click here. Other good resources for checking phone compatibility include our Community, and willmyphonework.net. Public Mobile uses the following frequency bands:

  • 4G LTE and LTE Advanced: 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2100 MHz downlink and 1700 MHz uplink (AWS).
  • HSPA: 850 MHz, 1900 MHz (UMTS).

Please note that this information is indicative only. Your phone's compatibility with our 4G or 4G LTE networks is based on the radio frequencies of your phone. Public Mobile does not guarantee that your phone will work on our mobile network.

@Chris3M, in addition to the link provided by @Anonymous, which provides recommended specs for a phone/repeater, here is the comprehensive list of frequencies deployed on the network:

Frequency are identical to Bell Mobility and Telus Mobility.

3g (required for voice calls at Public Mobile): 850 and 1900MHz

LTE: Band 2, 4, 5, 7, and various bands in the 700MHz ranges
