@Guppy I noticed both these phones are offered by PCMOBILE and FREEDOM mobile. Is this why you chose these two because of familiarity?

If you would like I am sure members in the community could search for other options as well?

Found this info for you sounds like the the

Alcatel 3 is one of the best minimalist phones out there! 🙂

Pros: Compact design, convenient front screen, microSD support, 4G LTE support , Wi-Fi calling
Cons: Weak cameras, limited internal storage

The GoFlip 3 takes the classic clamshell, flip design and adds in just enough modern perks to make it useful in 2020.

You won't find Android apps or a touchscreen keyboard, but there is Google Assistant support for quick voice searches, reminders, timers, and more.

Otherwise, it's a basic affair with a large, easy to use keypad, a basic camera, and a pair of small but readable screens for checking notifications, emails, and texts.

The phone only includes 4GB of internal storage, so if you’d like to listen to music or podcasts, you’ll probably need a microSD card. However, support for cards up to 32GB provides more than enough room for a few albums or seasons.

There’s also a 5MP rear camera for quick snapshots or pictures of the kids for grandma and grandpa.

Bottom Line...
If you’re looking for a flip phone that doesn’t look like it’s from a museum and won't break the bank the GoFlip 3 is the phone to beat.

@Guppy  great to see you doing some research.  what plan are you  thinking of?

since you are looking at flip phones I am assuming mainly talk  as smsing is more difficulty with these older phones.  If that is the case as mentioned you are fine using them as you will not be surfing the web with these.

for talk and text there is the $25  unlimited talk and text plan.  but also dont be scared of the $15 plan  it has unlimited incoming calls and you can buy $500 minute addons for $5  the addon stays until used up.  so for say $25 you could get outgoing:1,100 minutes (100 plan +1000 (2@500 addon)    i do this for my dad and he averages  about $20 /month.

also dont forget if you do not have a referal you can get a $10 bonus by asking someone who has helped you for a referal code by private message.  (Please ignore the barrage of private messages  providing you a code, it is against the terms of service)

They will work, just keep in mind, they are simple phones, 512 ram, the key pad, old school, if doing any texting, very hard, if just talking fine, if used for web surfing, and, texting, I would get something better. Just a suggestion

@Guppy

Check if they are compatible through this link. I would love to say yes but if you buy an international version then it may not work.

Hi @Guppy

I would probably go for the second one

Though pm doesn't offer volte, LTE bands on that one are better and who knows maybe they will

Welcome to public mobile

@Guppy , the two phones have 3G compatibility which will cover calls and text nicely.  However, both are a little short on the LTE bands with the flip 3 a faring a little better.  Please take a look at the operating bands for this service.
