Will Huawei u2801 work in PublicMobile?

Hi there,

My Huawei U2801 doesn't work with PM sim card, even though I have it checked online and it said it should work.

Huawei specs: GSM:850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS:1700/2100 MHz.

Any ideas why it is not working? Thanks in advance!

PM Network runs on HSPA 850 & 1900Mhz so your device will not with on PM. However once unlocked will work with Wind, Mobilicity, Rogers, Chatr and Fido

Public Mobile (owned by Telus) does not have anymore a GSM 2G network.

Your phone does not support the correct frequency on 3G that why your mobile is not working.

To get a new smartphone that will work on Public Mobile, you have to purchase a phone unlocked or locked to Telus/Koodo.

I suggest you Telus (online only), Apple, Google Nexus, Microsoft, Staples, Best buy, Costco and Walmart

 
Telus/Koodo/Public Mobile frequency are :


3G UMTS/HSDPA = (850MHz / 1900MHz)

4G LTE Band 4 = (2100MHz / 1700MHz)

4G LTE-Advanced = 700MHz (not yet launched by Telus/Bell)
