I created huge excel document for these days. But only some hours ago I've got a problem at opening it. I see strange message: "This file is not in a recognizable format". Only yesterday always was fine. But today I've tried opening excel file three times, but I didn't give any success. I was searching some variants to repair excel file, but I saw only ways for computer, not for gadgets.

To repair corrupted Excel file there are generally the solutions for the Windows and mac computers, so repairing the corrupted Excel file on Phone is quite impossible or you can try the third party repair tool to repair corrupted Excel workbook on phone only the one that supports phone also
Or else you can try other easy way to repair and recover corrupt Excel file like transfer your Excel sheet to computer and try the solutions to fix the corruptions.

Ok, it looks like I was able to solve this problem.
You need to transfer excel file to computer, if you have and apply guide below and to read some similar variants to handle it...

If you don't have laptop/pc at hand, you may use innovative instrument like one of online-service, where you may upload your file directly from your device https://onlinefilerepair.com/en/excel-repair-online.html
1. First Identify, which spreadsheets you need to save. I had lots of hidden worksheets from the past in the workbook. I only had 3 , i had to save.
2. In order to get the spreadsheet XML ids, you need to convert the file by renaming it .zip (so rename a.xlsm to a.zip). If you can't see the extension , go to organize ---> Folder and search options ---> view and untick "hide extensions for known file types.
3. After converting the file into .zip, you can see the xlm properties. go to file which is named xl. then double click on "workbook.xlm". From here you can get the ids for the worksheets you want to save.
4. Then go back and go to folder which is named worksheets. Delete all the spreadsheets and try to reopen it.
5. Excel might say the file needs repair but it can actually repair it this time.

Your best bet is to look for support thru Microsoft. Not sure if they offer tech support for Excel but if so they are more likely to be able to help you with that kind of problem. As @will13am said this forum is more for PM specific questions. Good luck!

This is really off topic. This forum is by and large for resolution of problems specific to this service. Having said that, I don't use excel or other office products much outside of work. On my phone, I use google docs to open office type files.
