Can you go into settings and see if the network settings are on auto or something else. Should be under Mobile network settings and Preferred network type or maybe Network operators.

I'm just about tapped for ideas here.

Maybe there's a reason why it was being sold in a second hand store.

Edit: @queenjanine00: Maybe a full everything factory reset. Doesn't matter because it's a blank new phone to you.

Thanks. Should be fine.

So again...from my prior post...does the phone give any indication of noticing the SIM card when you insert it and turn it on?

Is the SIM card the right size for the slot? There are generally three different sizes.

Yes make is a Samsung s7 and model is smg930w8

Do you have another phone you can put the SIM into? Even your old phone? Just to make sure it's all still working.

Does it give any indication of even knowing there's a SIM inserted? Does it give any kind of message?

Is the SIM the right size for the slot in the phone and not flopping around so to speak?

Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Yes and everything's all good

That's correct and it was bought from a second hand store .everything else is working like my Google and Facebook but when my kid tried calling me it didn't ring

I'm assuming you mean Google and Facebook by way of wifi?

So it's a used phone. There's a very real possibility that it has been what they call blacklisted. ie. stolen.

Check this page to see if your phone has been flagged.

You're typing stuff in the tags box and the text box.

I don't understand.

Did putting your SIM into the S7 work at all? Did it ask for a code when you put the SIM in?

So you had active service with Public Mobile with that phone and now you got a different phone and you put the SIM in and nothing works and no code is being asked? Right?

A Bell phone should certainly be compatible. Did you buy it used from somewhere?

Did you go through all the sign up steps to activate the SIM?

The phone should ask you for a code if it was, in fact, locked.

What make/model is the new phone?

Did you have service before and you're just moving your SIM over to a new phone?

Or are you starting up new service?
