Hey I have the above phone, and am having issues getting it to connect to the public mobile network. It is unlocked, was with Telus, but I can connect to a Fido sim with no issues. Did a search on the form and others seem to be able to use this phone with public mobile as well. 
My PM sim also works in other unlocked phones.

Actually it just connected. It took a weirdly long time though. Had it plugged in and trying to connect all night. Thanks!

Your phone should work wiht PM also since it worked with Telus.  Check the specs and it should work, even though it does not support 4G.  Should be able to call and text....

Maybe try the following

Reboot phone

Network reset

Toggle airplane mode on/off

Even factory reset (back up information)
