No sim card detected. My story with my solution.

A month ago I went to Public mobile with phone number porting.
Activated account and new sim card. In 3 hours porting finished, my phone and internet worked.
Next day I had got a gift: No sim detected. Put the sim card in my wife phone- good. Put speakout sim in my phone- good. What the hell... Tried all advices from the internet, including putting a piece of tape on the back of the card and factory reset.
The last attempt, just in case- flash ROM completely. Hooray! Sim is detected.

It would be amazing that radio firmware corruption could have been the problem.  The radio firmware had to functional for the phone to be working in the first place.  How could it corrupt when it just gets read over and over.  Now a reflash solved it but what's to say it won't corrupt again.  Great sleuthing anyway.

If I remember right, factory reset does not touch radio module files, etc.

In any case, factory reset was performed and did not help and rom flashing did.

Thank you for your interest.

My phone is from Google and it is easy to find and flash original rom.

ROM flashing clears all momory.  It is like factory reset.  I think factory reset will fix your problem - not the ROM flashing.

Was your phone locked to Rogers? (Speakout uses Rogers.)

If so, you could just asked Rogers to unlock it.
