Locked Sim Card

Hi noble members, my Samsung S8 reads "Network locked Sim card inserted" anytime I insert my public mobile sim card. What is the problem and what am I to do?

But as I am now to this PM, how will I be checking my balances ie data bundle left etc?

It was locked by bell. They've provided the unlocked code for it to be done. It is unlock now . Thank you all.

Contact Samsung via chat and tell them to unlock it. They will do it for free. If this method does not work, you can call Bell to unlock it.

The mesage on the phone's screen in the earlier message indicates otherwise.  I would say that your phone is still locked to bell and needs to be unlocked first before you can use it at Public Mobile.  Many times, customers beleive that phones are unlocked, or are even incorrectly told by a carrier that a phone is unlocked when it isn't.

@akattijnr Can you verify it is unlocked? It is pretty simple.. find another non Bell SIM Card (I assume your S8 is from Bell) and see if that still ask you for the code. Networks are only obligated to unlock the phone when the customers ask for the phone to be unlocked, so don't assume the phone from any carrier is unlocked by default.

How sure are you that it is not locked? If it works on Bell, then must be locked to Bell and won't work with any other carrier. That error you received indicates that it is locked to Bell.

@akattijnr Hi did you just sign up ? did you check to see if your phone was unlocked?

@akattijnr Is your phone unlocked? It looks like it is locked and needs to be unlocked to use on PM. To do that, you can contact Samsung or the provider you bought it from and they will unlock it for free of charge.
