List of missing devices from Compatibility Checker

Alan_K
Deputy Mayor / Adjoint au Maire

Hi Community,

Thank you for the positive comments on the new phone compatibility checker. As you may know, we partnered with willmyphonework.net and utilize its extensive catalog of mobile devices. With that said, you’ve highlighted to us that there are devices that are not captured still, and we want to keep track of that here to provide feedback on a regular basis.

Please comment below your phone make and model that wasn’t found on our checker and we’ll be sharing on a monthly basis back to our partners.

Thanks,

Public Mobile Community Team

iPhone SE 2020  Model 2275 is compatible.  Just had to remember to break the SIM card down to the smallest size.  Only took a couple of minutes to come up.  Everything works and even have service better than I had with the Moto G4.

Remember that a phone model doesn't necessarily need to be in the list the work. The compatibility checker is for reference only.

I have an iphone SE 2020 A2275 and it works fine.  You will need to go to "unlockit.co.nz" to set up APN though.

I will follow-up with Apple again, but I have yet to see a confirmation from someone who is actually using the iPhone SE 2020 with public mobile's network.

Thanks.

I typed in "iphone se 2020" (no quotes) in the search above and found lots of results.

The phone will work.

Can you call the previous provider it was on?

Can you connect via usb and run itunes and see if something will update? All this Apple stuff is murky for me though 🙂

 @deannev

The compatibility list is poorly maintained. That version will work perfectly fine here.

iphone folks will be better than me for the error.

All phones from outside the Telus family have to be unlocked before being able to use them here.

I believe the IPhone SE (2020) model A2275 is not compatible at this time ('No SIM' error when SIM inserted) and it doesn't show on any of the lists. Will the iPhone SE (2020) be added soon to compatible PM phones?

Much appreciated:)

Thanks a bunch...  what referral code?

It's a code for existing customers to refer to new customers. The new customer gets a $10 credit. The existing customer gets a $1 reward each term.

You've probably already been deluged with a bunch.

@Richmurray  a referral code is a code given by a friend that's with public mobile or family member or you can ask here and someone will send you one via private message to use when you sign up for a $10 bonus

Be sure to ask though as many probably sent you one already which is not allowed. But if you ask someone for a code then they can send it to you and you can use it.

@Richmurray

Yes it will work. See link below where someone else asked.

Don't forget to use a referral code for a $10 signup bonus.

I have a Easyfone prime A1,  model C512W , it is not on your list

@prach004  yes as long as it's the global version.

A device doesn't need to be on the list to be compatible. At the very least, customers should be looking for devices with at least UMTS band 2 and 5 capabilities.  The information that I've found says that there is a version that has that, but that doesn't mean that there can't be multiple versions of this model.
