@lkenny : A phone locked by either Telus or Koodo would work here. Did you try the devicecheck.ca mentioned earlier?

lkenny

yes. sync after unlock

reboot, now says "searching"

sync is successful after reboot.

What else can i do with itunes other than sync?

did you sync AFTER Telus unlocked your phone?

I guess, try reboot your phone once again, try the SYNC again.

Also, are you able to call out or receive calls?

lkenny

So p called Telus and they unlocked id for me

Now top left says no service

Itunes syncs but that is it

@lkenny

Has this new phone been with a previous provider? If so, check to see if it is not locked to that provider. If it is, contact them to unlock it for you.

Check to make sure this newer phone is not blacklisted:

Was previously used by my son with Telus.

I will check this out.

I assume yours  is not a brand new phone and  was used on another network or for office use.    Have a look at this post regarding remove Profiles that might be setup from before and Reset Network settings

OK, i will download itunes to my desktop and do as u instruct.

I will respond with results.

Thank you for you efforts

another question, what do you see if you goto Settings --> General --> About --> Carrier   ?

again, put this SIM into the "new" iphone, make sure Wifi is on

At the same time, also plug into this iPhone into the computer with iTune again to see any update and carrier profile comes down.

I take the wotking SIM from one I and plug it into another I6 after having reset all data from the later I6.

It says , top left "searching"

did you have the PM SIM there when you plug in the phone?

What is showing on the iPhone screen, do you see Public Mobile on top ?

lkenny
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Yes, iphone 6

are you talking about iPhone 6?

If so, you might want to plug in your phone to a computer, launch iTune and download the latest update as well as the Carrier Profile.

I6 to I6?  iPhone 6?

If it is between 2 phones you meant, you can simply pull it out from one and put it into another one.

If you have a new SIM Card and you need to swap from OLD to New SIM card (tie your exacting phone number from OLD to NEW SIM card), you will need to open ticket with Mod for a SIM swap request.
